If God Be For You
“…and the Lord was with him.”
We cannot go out if The Lord is not with us.
That great leader Moses, who took an entire nation through a desert for 40 years, said to The Lord in Exodus 33:15: “Lord, if You don’t go with us, we are not going.”
You see if we go back to the Book of Samuel we will see that, unfortunately, the presence of The Lord had departed from King Saul because of his disobedience and had been transferred to David.
The amazing thing was that everyone, including King Saul, could see it - the Bible says that all of Israel and Judah loved David.
Matthew 10:28, quite a serious verse:
“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Who said that?
Jesus said that. We need to understand that if God is going with us we cannot lose. Romans 8:31 says "if God be for you, no man can stand against you." But if you do your own thing and bend the rules, like King Saul did, the presence of the Holy Spirit departs from you - then you are a person who is in serious trouble!
A nightmare, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is a frightening or unpleasant dream. Now for me, a nightmare is like walking up onto a large platform and looking out at an ocean of expectant faces, and then realizing that God has left me and I am alone. I cannot think of anything worse, I really mean that - I think a firing squad would be easier!
Fortunately, it has never happened to me and I trust it never will.
Job 28:28 is a good memory verse:
“Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, (respect) And to depart from evil is understanding.”
Have a wonderful day and week as you walk in the presence of God. Just do what He tells you to do and you will have a wonderful week.
God bless you and goodbye.
