Don’t Give Up

It is 27th December, Sunday morning 2020, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

If we go to the New Testament, to the Book of Galatians - Galatians, Chapter 6, verses 9 and 10:

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Don’t give up! Maybe you woke up this morning and you said, “How long is this Covid 19, this dreaded Coronavirus, going to persist?

Well, The Lord says, don’t throw in the towel!

Now ladies, you probably don’t understand that terminology.

Well, if you are a boxer you will understand. You see, when the boxer gives up and he is getting hammered by his opposition, his trainer, his coach throws the towel into the ring and the fight is over, and the opposition wins the fight.

Don’t give up. Take every opportunity today to be a blessing to others.

Keep on planting good seed. The time for reaping is still coming.

Do it God’s way, no short cuts, but don’t quit.

Right now, therefore, let us not lose a moment to do good.

Remember, good seed does not cost - it pays.

I got that statement from a leading seed maize company, but it is so true.

You see, what you sow is what you are going to reap. Stop being influenced by losers, by negative talkers.

Don’t fly around with those turkeys.

Get up to the high ground where the eagles fly. Get close to Jesus and He will see you through.

I really want to encourage you to keep looking forward.

Many a time in farming, I have been farming now for, ja - over fifty years, and you know, some of the crops I have planted, I have thought, “Lord, we are not going to get anything out of this crop.

The rain hasn’t come. The crop hasn’t germinated properly - but I persevered and you know what happens?

The rain does come, the crop does recover and the prices go through the roof because you see, there are lots of other farmers who have not persevered and they have ploughed their crops in and sometimes we have had the greatest profit of all.

So don’t give up on the brink of a miracle. Remember that old saying, “But God!”

When is it going to finish? God will see it through.

I have to go now because I have got to catch a train!! It is called The Revival Train.

It will be leaving Cape Town in March. I hope you are going to be on it.

If you are not on it, I hope you are going to support us when we come steaming into your town.

Have a wonderful Sunday! Keep your eyes on Jesus and keep sowing good seed.
