Read MoreWe really need to be content with the wives of our youth.
We cannot be unfaithful.
No relationships are to be had outside of the marriage.
This is not just for husbands, for wives as well.
Read MoreWe have to prefer one another. We have to put other programs before our own.
You know, often the gospel is called, “the upside-down gospel”.
The Khoisan people call the baobab tree, the upside-down tree, because in the winter when the leaves are all off the tree, it looks like the roots are sticking up in the sky, and so it is with us as followers of Jesus Christ.
We are sometimes regarded as people who are following the upside-down gospel. Why?
Because Jesus said in Luke 14:27:
“And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”
Read MoreDo you remember that little band that we used to put on our wrists? What would Jesus do? WWJD? I had one on my wrist until it literally fell off, eventually. Let us today be careful who we speak to and who we turn away because we might even be turning away an angel.
Read MoreThe Lord says, “Do not be unevenly yoked.”
What does that mean?
It means a believer cannot marry an unbeliever. Why? Because oil does not mix with water and darkness with light.
You say, “But I will get him to come through for The Lord when I marry him” or, “I will bring her to The Lord when I marry her.”
No, you won’t! The chances are it will be the other way round.
Read MoreYou see, the Word of God is actually Jesus, Himself in print.
That’s right. If we go to 1 John Chapter 5 and verse 7, the Word of God tells us that there are three who bear witness in Heaven: The Father, The Word, and The Holy Spirit.
So who is the Word? Yes, the Word is Jesus.
Read MoreThis morning, very, very early, I received a most beautiful letter from the United States of America, from a young man who I am mentoring.
It stirred me up so much. And in the letter he wrote, he said little boys with big dreams don’t always materialize.
They don’t always turn out the way we expected them to and we feel like failures so often.
Read MoreYou know, I love the simplicity of children and we really need to give them time folks, because they can teach us so much. I can’t wait to see my grandchildren every day. They live all around us and they are such a blessing to me. They teach me so many things. You know, as a preacher, I always…
Read MoreTo me, those parents are very cruel because that little boy or that little girl has got no discipline in their lives and when they go to school they think they can just do what they like, and sometimes it takes the other little boys and little girls, to prune that child and it is extremely painful…
Read MoreHe wants to talk with us, He wants us to tell Him our plans. He wants us to ask Him advice and He wants us to tell Him how much we love Him. He loves us very, very much - so much that He gave His only begotten Son to die on the Cross of Calvary so that we might be saved.
Read MoreYou see, Jill and I have succumbed to Covid19. That’s right.
We were afflicted, 67 days in self-isolation, and five tests later, we eventually were negative.
But you see, my dear friend, we can understand how people feel who have COVID 19…
Read MoreAnd then tears filled his eyes. He said, “Son, it is not because of you. It is because of your mother because when I was a little boy, my mother died early, and your mom became a mother to me. I am doing it for her.”
Read MoreI remember as a brand spanking new Christian, I was so excited that I had met Jesus. I said to Jill (she was a young girl in those days. Our children were all babies. I have 5 children), I said to Jill, "I feel I want to give the farm away. I want to go to Bible College and then I want to become a pastor”. And Jill, you can imagine, was a little bit concerned about…
Read MoreOn the farm, Shalom, we have a thirty-foot cross and when the sun goes down, we have a time switch, and the lights come up. We are not ashamed to tell the world that anything good that has happened on this farm, is due to the Glory of God and nothing to do with ourselves.
Read MoreYou see the heavy rain had softened the soil and when the hail came, the whole crop fell down but it didn’t break. It just lodged.
And when the sun came out, the crop stood up again. Oh yes! Those stalks had a permanent bow in them right until we reaped it but we reaped a bumper crop.
You must put your trust in Jesus.
Read MoreI really believe with all my heart the greatest opportunities that we have ever had are about to be given to us at this time, but we need to step out by faith, and we need to obey what God has said.
Read MoreOne night, the hall was full. We had about a thousand people there and there was a heckler.
He was sitting at the back. He had had too much to drink and he started to challenge me all the time.
Every time I said something, he would say, “Can you prove that preacher? Where does it say that in the Bible?”
But you know…
Read MoreI walked into the kitchen just now to see Jill, and she was pulling out a beautiful tray of freshly baked rusks and they smelled delicious.
And she made those rusks, not because she had to but she made them because she loves me, and I want to tell you that Jesus loves you so much that He died for you and he chose you.
Read MoreToday go out and love people.
That is what people need.
There are so many people who are lonely, fearful, tired, lost - just tell them that Jesus Christ loves them so much that He died for them.
Read MoreThat is how I was converted - not by a fancy sermon but by people getting into the pulpit, one after the other and just telling us what Jesus meant to them - farmers, housewives, building contractors, accountants, lawyers, tears streaming down their faces, just giving their story.
