Today
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 19th of September, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
We go straight to Galatians 2:20. Paul says:
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
What a powerful scripture!
I read something in a little book that I want to share with you, and it was written by a Roman Emperor named Marcus Aurelius. This is what he said: “I expect to pass through this world but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing that I can do, to any fellow human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it; for I will not pass this way again.” What a powerful word for you and me today. ”I shall not pass this way again.” We live once and then the judgement. Let us not put off for tomorrow, things we can do today.
We need to put our flesh down once and for all as the scripture says because it is Christ in us that gives us the strength. Phone that person after this message. Email them, send them a text, tell them how you love them, ask them to forgive you for something you have done to them a long time ago, maybe unconditionally, because you will not pass this way again. This is the life, this is not a dummy run and we are coming back to give it another go. No, we don’t believe in that. We do not believe, like some faiths, that you keep coming back until you get it right. No, this is it! After this, it is eternal judgement and it is home time.
Oh my friends, don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today because you don’t really know if you have tomorrow, but one thing you do know is, you have today, and live it to the full and make sure that you don’t leave any regrets behind.
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day today.
Goodbye.
