Get Confirmation
“How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through Your precepts I get understanding;
Therefore I hate every false way.”
Everything we do today must be confirmed by God's Holy Word - the Bible. Now, remember, we cannot be led by the Spirit of God without confirmation of God's Holy written Word, the Bible. In the same way, the word without the Spirit is dead.
2 Corinthians 3:6: "for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."
You see at the end of the day Jesus is the vine and we are the branches, without Him, we can do nothing - John 15:5.
People will often say: "You are so lucky, things always seem to work out so well for you." It has got nothing at all to do with luck - it is all to do with working good, solid, godly choices, led by the Holy Spirit, through God's Holy Word.
Years ago we used to wear little bands around our wrists, on those bands were printed "What would Jesus do?" And it is a good reminder. For example, do not be unevenly yoked - not in marriage and not in business. What has oil to do with water? It can't mix, light with darkness?
Now, these are godly principles that we need to obey. The Holy Spirit is the one who gives us that 'peace of God which passes all understanding.'
When we have got that peace in our heart, we know we have made a good choice. If you are undecided in your heart, don't do it! Wait and the Lord will confirm it through His Word, time and time again.
As a follower of Jesus Christ, we do not have to take any more chances. In this world in which we are living today, we cannot afford to make bad choices. Let your choices today be given to you, through spending time reading the Bible, then getting confirmation from the Holy Spirit - which is that peace in your heart.
