Stand Strong

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.
— Matthew 4:1-3

Sin is not to be tempted, sin is to succumb to temptation. We are always tempted at our weakest moment. The first thing we do is we try to justify the sin.

Remember, Jesus had not eaten for forty days and forty nights and then the devil tempted Him. You see, the devil is a coward. He will never face you straight on, so we must never make a decision through desperation, or in a pressure situation. That is exactly what the devil wants you to do. So remember, when in doubt - don’t. Do not allow yourself to be rushed.

And then of course ask yourself the question, “What would Jesus do in that situation?” And then do it.

You say “But I have been asking God but He has not answered me.” But that is an answer in itself. If God has not answered you that means you mustn’t move, you mustn’t do a thing until He tells you.

A young girl came to our church service a few years back, I will never forget it, on a Sunday morning. We made the altar call, she came forward crying desperately. She was a lovely young lady. She said to me, “I have broken up with my fiancé. We had come back from England, we had been living there together for a while, but I read that book of your’s Uncle Angus, Hard Core Christianity, and I was convicted that we were living in sin. And I said to my fiancé, “We have got two weeks left before the wedding. I believe God wants us to part and come together on our wedding night." He said to her, “If you do that, then its over.” And she bravely looked up and said to him and said, “Okay, its over.”

I said to her, “Young lady, that was a good decision. He never loved you anyway.” I saw that same young lady, six months later. She was radiant. She was looking beautiful. She ran up to me and said, “Uncle Angus, I have a met a man who loves me and respects me.”

We need to do what God tells us to do - not a good idea or a desperation decision because God is in full control.” Stand strong. Don’t make a decision that you might regret later on in your life.
