Unconfessed Sin
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
When we have got unconfessed sin in our lives, it causes separation from harmony with God’s will for our lives. What is preventing us from dealing with this unconfessed sin? What is holding us back from seeking a pardon from God?
If we look at Psalm 51:1-2, reading out of The Passion Translation, this is David’s confession:
“God, give me mercy from Your fountain of forgiveness! I know Your abundant love is enough to wash away my guilt. Because Your compassion is so great, take away this shameful guilt of sin.
Forgive the full extent of my rebellious ways, and erase this deep stain on my conscience.”
You know I looked up the word, 'pardon'. In the Oxford Dictionary, it means the action of forgiving or being forgiven for an error or an offence.
What is holding you and I back?
You know, David was regarded as 'the apple of God’s eye', Psalm 17:8 tells us, yet he committed adultery, murder and he told lies. Why was it that God loved Him so much? Quiet simply because David knew how to, genuinely, say sorry.
Maybe today that is what you and I have to do. We need to say, “Sorry Lord, please forgive us.”
What is holding us back? Well, it could be pride maybe. You know, what they say - pride always comes before a fall. Humble yourself today and ask God to forgive you and I tell you what - you will have a very good day.
Unconfessed sin is like trying to run a race with a stone in your shoe. Stop the race, take the stone out, put your shoe back on and then keep running for Jesus.
God bless you as you have a wonderful day of freedom because The Lord will forgive your sins if you will just say sorry.
