Love Your Family

If we go to the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 8:36: "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his soul?"

What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his family?

Well, one thing about COVID-19, it has given us time to spend with our families - It has given us much more time.

Remember, a nation is only as strong as the family unit, and that is why the devil is trying his best to break down the family. The family that prays together, stays together.

How much time are we spending with the folk that will be standing around our grave when we die? That's right - Makes you think doesn't it? We need to work hard at it, it doesn't come easily. The hardest place to be a Christian is in your own home because your family knows you so well.

We have got to spend effort, we have got to spend time, we have got to prioritise because that is the only way that the family will stay together.

I remember reading an article many years ago: Barack Obama, had gone back to Africa, to Kenya, to see his old grandmother who was living in a rural village. She looked up at him and she said to him, one day when she was feeding the chickens, she said: "If everyone is your family, then you don't have a family." Makes you think, doesn't it?

John 19:26-27: "When Jesus, therefore, saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother: "Woman, behold your son!" Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home."

By the way, the Lord Jesus was hanging on the cross, dying the most horrific painful death possible and yet He still had time for His earthly family. You and I need to do the same - spend time with your loved ones, for the time is running out.
