He Knows Your Predicament
It is Saturday morning, 19th December 2020, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.
If we go to the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 4 and I am reading from verse 39:
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
Oh, He is the Weather Man! We have said it so many times before. Signs in the sky! There is nothing like desperation to be an ingredient for growing our faith, is there?
You know, so often over the years, we have been standing at the air-strip next to our farm, waiting for an aeroplane to fetch us to take us to a meeting, and the mist descends, and it is so thick, you can’t even see your hand in front of you.
And the phone calls start coming in from the organisers of the meeting which is 500 or 600 kms away, asking “are you on your way?”
And by faith, raw faith, we say, “We are coming.”
And then we can hear the engines of that plane circling over the farm but the mist is so thick it is like pea-soup, it just can’t get down.
Those are the times when you start praying the prayer of faith.
And then another miracle happens.
A pathway literally opens just above the air-strip and the plane gracefully slips through, and lands, to collect the team.
I don’t know how many times that has happened.
How can one possibly doubt a miracle-working God, who is the same, yesterday, today and forevermore. Hebrews Chapter 13 and verse 8:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
I would exhort you this weekend, to start to concentrate on a miracle-working God.
He understands exactly what you need. He knows your predicament.
He knows your pain. He knows your fear.
“Call unto Him and He will answer you and He will show you great and mighty things of which you do not know.”
Jeremiah Chapter 33 and verse 3. Jeremiah 333 - God’s telephone number.
Phone Him today and He will not fail you.
Have a wonderful weekend.
