Unconditional Love

Early this morning, while having my quiet time, I read my Bible systematically and in Luke 6:27-28, Jesus says:

"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you." (NKJV, Red Letter Edition)

I was having a good heart-to-heart with Jesus. I said, "Lord, this is a very hard scripture. It cannot be done unless we do it in the strength and power of your Holy Spirit."
Sometimes, revenge seems to be sweet. In other words, to pay back what you have received unjustly from somebody else seems sweet. But that is not the way of our beloved Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
That is why it is not easy to be a follower of Christ. If we want God's blessing in our lives, we must obey God's written Word unconditionally.

My prayer for you today is that before you say something ugly in retaliation, count to 10.
You won't say it after that. Always try to think of the best in the other person and put yourself in their shoes. You might be more understanding of why that person is in such a foul mood or says or does such hateful things. Remember, the love of Christ defines us and makes us different from this world.

Jesus bless you, and by the grace of God, be Jesus to a dying world.
