Forgive
Maybe today there is a child who has so disappointed you and you are so angry with him or her and you feel you just cannot forgive them.
You have to, because Jesus said so.
That unfair business deal - that man who has let you down so badly, forgive him. Why? Because Jesus said so.
That broken relationship you have with your parents - go and sort that out. Why?
Because Jesus said so.
It is not even optional.

God Is Love
And then we found out later on, a Zambian lady who loved Jesus very much, had got up in the middle of the night with a bucket and walked about three or four kilometers, down to a river and had collected fresh water and carried it up on her head, and filled that 210 litre drum for each one of us.
We didn’t know her name. She refused to be identified.
She did it because of the love of God in her heart and her love for us.
That type of love, you cannot buy, you cannot repay. It comes from deep within.

Whatever He Tells You To Do
So the servants filled six stone water pots that hold 150 litres each, full of water - 720 litres of water, and miraculously, that water turned into the finest wine ever.
We need at this time in which we are living, to do what God tells us to do. No more and no less.
Remember, we always used to say, “A good idea is not always a God idea.”
God’s economy doesn’t work the way we think.
Two plus two doesn’t always equal four with The Lord. It equals seven sometimes.
We need to be obedient to what God is calling us to.

Ambassadors
I remember reading a lovely story many years ago about a missionary who went to the South Sea Islands to preach the Gospel to the Islanders.
They were war-like cannibals and they allowed him to stay among them with only one condition, and that condition was that he was not allowed to speak to them about his God.
Well, many, many years later, another sailing ship arrived on the South Sea Islands with missionaries, only this time to find a peace-loving people who warmly welcome them.
As they, the islanders sat listening to the wonderful gospel story of Jesus, preached by the missionaries, the missionaries noticed that they were not particularly surprised, and thenthey asked them, “Have you heard this story before?”
They replied, “No, never.”
But they said, “Come with us, we want to show you something.”…

No Fishing
You know, many years ago, when Jill and I arrived from Zambia, we brought everything we could fit into that old truck.
We brought in farming equipment, personal household equipment - everything, and I did not declare everything at the border when I came through.
Well, two or three years later, after I met Jesus Christ as my Saviour, the devil used to continually attack me.
He used to say, “You are a smuggler. You are a thief. You did not declare your personal goods at the border.
And it started getting to me so badly, I was losing my joy.

Fruits Worthy Of Repentance
Now we cannot have another national prayer meeting at the moment because of the Cover 19, the Coronavirus and the lockdown we are involved in, but we can repent in our early morning quiet times with Jesus.
We can repent at work with some of our Christian friends.
We can repent in the school.
We can repent in our motor cars going to work.
Maybe you are doing that right now as you are listening to this ‘Thought For Today’.

We Shall Be Known By Our Fruit
We had been driving for about three weeks. We were exhausted.
We had no contact with home. In those days there were no cellphones. We couldn’t afford a satellite telephone and I was concerned because I hadn’t heard from home and they hadn’t heard from us.
And we drove into a little village and there was a little office there, and it was the office of some overseas assistance organization, and as I walked in, a lovely young Zambian lady…

Dark Clouds And Silver Linings
I heard a story once about a sailing ship, a huge big sailing ship - this was a couple of hundred years ago.
They were sailing up the east coast of South America and then a calm came over the ship.
Now, any sailor, listening to this, will know that that is a very dangerous thing.
No wind - the ship does not move and that ship just sat there in that position for weeks.
And eventually, the sailors were starting to die of…

Yesterday, Today And Forevermore
Billy Graham is regarded as probably the greatest modern day evangelist of all time and when he was a young evangelist there were certain things in the Bible that he did not understand.
So he said, he went into a forest one day and he took his Bible and he opened it up and he laid it on top of a tree stump, and he got down on his knees and he said,”Lord, I don’t understand everything in this Book but I am choosing today to believe your Word is unadulterated, written by men under the inspiration of The Holy Spirit.”
And with that he stood up and he went out and he took on the whole world.

Be Ready
I started to plant my seed maize crop into dry land.
Now, any farmer will tell you, you wait for the first rains because that soil has got a little bit of dampness in it, just enough to germinate the seed and then it dies, but I carried on, day after day after day, I planted in the dust but do you know what happened…

Follow Your Leader
Many, many years ago, I was at Agricultural College in the North East of Scotland, the North of Scotland College of Agriculture, and during the one term, one of our fellow students - his name was MacMillan (He was a tall man, about 6 ft 9 tall, black hair, sharp features), he got special permission from the principal - he was the only one who could do that, to go back home to his farm.
He farmed on the West Coast of Scotland, a high mountainous area.
He was a sheep farmer. He farmed the black-faced sheep and…

Aim
I remember very clearly in 1989, on 17th November, The Lord gave me a vision, to go to towns, to town halls, to sports fields and to hire them and to preach the gospel.
I got into my pick up with my flask of coffee and said goodbye to my young wife and small children and I went to book the Town Hall in Ladysmith, Kwazulu-Natal.
I didn’t get much encouragement from the local clergy at the time.

Ordinary People
You see, on a Sunday morning we went to church.
I was reluctant to go but my wife could see that I really needed help because I was just working myself steadily to death, night and day,.
And we went to a little Methodist Church in the main street in our town, Greytown, and the methodist minister had organized a lay witness mission.
What does that mean? It means just ordinary people - builders, housewives, sportsmen, musicians, doctors, farmers - giving their testimonies and telling folk what Jesus had done for them.
Broken marriages restored, sickness healed, new vision given, sins forgiven.
I sat there in that church and for the first time in my life, I saw men and women weeping openly, about The Lord Jesus Christ and what He had done for them.
I could identify with these businessmen who said, “I just couldn’t stop. I had to keep working to put bread on the table and I could see there was just no end, and then I met the Man from Galilee.”
A simple altar call was made and up we went.
We committed our lives to Christ and I have never been the same since.

Pray
As we know, last week, there was a very critical situation in our country but I can tell you that over 2000 intercessors, prayer warriors that I know of, were praying for the situation in our beloved South Africa.
We had two zoom conferences with Christian leaders in, and men and women of God who were praying, believing, for a miracle.
It was called by our Chief Justice…

It's Time To Take Your Inheritance
My dear friends, The Lord told Joshua, “It is time to cross over. It is time to take your inheritance.”
Many of us have been waiting and procrastinating for too long.
Those days are over. We need to get on that train now and we need to start to tell people about the soon coming King and stand against that spirit of fear.
Jesus says, “I have not given you a spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind.”
Even today, as you rest, contemplate, meditate and think about that promise that God has given you and then go and take it.

I AM WHO I AM
I want you to think of a little boy who would go down to the zoo everyday and sit and look at this huge male lion walking up and down inside the cage, a beautiful, magnificent specimen, a black-maned lion.
And then some naughty little boys would come down from the school and they would pick up stones and they would throw stones at this lion, and the little boy loved this lion so much, he would stand in front of the cage of the lion and try and protect the lion from the stones that were being thrown at him.
Spurgeon said, “All he had to do, that little boy who loved the lions so much, was to walk up to the gate and open the gate and let the lion out.

Just Do What The Book Says
Well, I said, “Lord, if I am going to do that I won’t make it.” And I felt The Holy Spirit say to me, “Well, leave one-seventh of your land fallow every year and then after seven years, the whole farm would have rested.”
And that is what I did, and you know, that is totally contrary to what I was taught at agricultural college. I was taught, “One year’s seeds, seven years weeds.”
You have to hammer that land so that the weeds ever come up.
But that is not what God said to me. So I honored His Word and I left one-seventh. But do you know what came out of that? The most beautiful crops you have ever seen.

He Stood His Ground
He had been thrashed by the communists and he had scars right across his back.
He then turned around and put his shirt on and he had their instant attention.
Unless you have been there, you can’t really understand what it is all about.
So that thing you are going through today might be an extremely important testimony in the time to come.

There Is Freedom In Confession
The old lady was very angry with me. She said, “Young man, I haven’t come to the front for this type of thing. I have come to the front because I want to be healed.”
I said, “I just feel in my heart that there is somebody that you haven’t forgiven, somebody close to you, a family member.”
And with that, she started to weep and she confessed her sins to God.
You know the next week she came back to church and she was radiant.
She was beautiful. She said, “Angus, I haven’t had a headache since that prayer of confession.”
