Trials and Tribulations

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 30th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

We start in the Book of Job 13:15:

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”

That’s unconditional surrender, and being a farmer myself and looking at his life, you know he suffered very, very much, but at the end of his life, everything he lost, the Lord gave him back a hundred-fold.

Then we go to the Book of Acts 14:22. This is Paul:

”…strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”

In the Message Translation, it says,

“Anyone signing up for the kingdom of God has to go through plenty of hard times.”

Are you going through a tough time at the moment? You know what concerns me sometimes? Many preachers will say, “Come to Jesus, and all your problems will be over.” That’s not the truth. Come to Jesus, and He will give you new life. Jesus never promised you or me a bed of roses when we gave our lives to Him. He never said that He would take us out of the fire, did He? No, what He said was, He will walk with us through the fire and that is good news.

I want to tell you that since I’ve given my life to the Lord, I’ve experienced more trials, tribulations, and hardships than before I became a Christian, but the only difference is that the hardships that I am suffering now are worthwhile. I am in the winning team. Are you in the winning team today? I hope so, because for us, home time is very near and what a life that is going to be. So today, do not despair if you are going through a hard time. Remember, the Lord told us clearly in Hebrews 13:5:

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Jesus bless you today and have a wonderful, peaceful, joyful day.
Goodbye.
