He Supplies
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Monday morning, the 4th of May, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
We go to the Book of Deuteronomy 2:7, in the Old Testament:
“For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.”
Then we go straight to the Book of Philippians 4:19:
”And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
We are living in difficult times, there’s no doubt about it. The price of fuel is skyrocketing, it is affecting people in every sector of life - the transporters, the shops, the farmers, in many, many ways, because without diesel we can’t plough the fields, without diesel we can’t use our vehicles to transport our food, and what happens? The price just keeps going up. It doesn’t matter what form of transport, they are being affected at the moment, but we need to keep focused on the Lord.
The Lord reminded the children of Israel that He had supplied their needs for forty years. Why is He not going to do it now? Of course, He’s going to do it, He has always done it and He always will. He looks after His people. You see, the Lord doesn’t say, ”I will give you your wants - no, no, your needs, what you need - food to put on the table every day, clothes that you can look after your children and your family. He will supply your needs and He does it every single day. We need to take our eyes off the situation and focus on the Lord, who will supply our needs.
At the moment in South Africa, we are really suffering with that terrible virus called the Foot and Mouth Disease, where the cattle have got huge lesions, sores in their mouths. They cannot eat food, and their hooves are literally falling off. They cannot walk. It is a horrible, horrific sight to see, but we know it has happened before and the Lord has delivered us. He will supply our needs. This disease will pass and the fuel prices will stabilise, but what we need to do in the meantime is thank God that He has never failed us and He is not about to do it now. So let us trust in Him and trust in His goodness towards His people.
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
