Burdens

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 17th of June, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

We start in the Book of Deuteronomy 33:25:

“…As your days, so shall your strength be.”

The Lord gives us enough strength to do the job.

Then we go to 1 Corinthians 10:13:

”No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

In other words, the Lord will not give you more than you can handle.

You’re probably sitting there today and saying, ”Angus, I can’t take this anymore. I just can’t take the load.” You can, and you must, but you must give it to God. Cast your cares upon Jesus because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 and then you can handle the load, but He will not give you more than He knows you can handle, and I really want to encourage you there because many of us take on too much. I’m one of them. The Lord says, ”No, don’t do that”. He will not impose upon us one needless burden. He will not exact more than He knows your strength can bear. He will not ask you to do anything that He knows you can’t do. Trust in Him! I want to pray for you this morning because I’m feeling there’s somebody out there who’s at breaking point and you’re saying, ”If this burden is not lifted, I won’t be able to take it any longer.”

Father,

I want to pray for my dear friend who is really struggling at the moment. Maybe it’s finance, maybe it’s health, maybe it’s a relationship. Lord, please give them the patience and the ability to see it through. Lord, Your word says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Let us believe it today. So we give You our burden, we leave it at the foot of the cross and then we carry on with our journey and it’s going to be so much lighter and so much easier because we have given it to You and You have promised us that You will never leave us and You will never forsake us.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
