Another Chance
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 4th of September, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
We go to the Book of Exodus 2:12:
“So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”
Yes, Moses was a killer, and then he fled for his life!
Then we go to Acts 7:58-59:
“And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
Saul was a murderer. He was instrumental in killing the first martyr in the New Testament. I am talking about Stephen.
This may be a special message for someone who feels there is no hope. “There is no hope for me, Angus. I have done the unforgivable. I have committed a crime, there is no way back.” Oh my dear friend, there is if you will but repent. The Bible says in 1 John 1:9:
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Jesus has got a habit of taking nobodies and making them into somebodies. Moses paid a severe price for what he did. He spent 40 years in the desert, unknown. He looked after his father-in-law’s sheep. Nicky Cruz was a warlord in the slums of New York in the USA. He was a gang leader, the warlord in the Mau Mau. His own mother called him, “the son of satan.” He is now 86 years old today and he is still preaching the Gospel. He heard the word of God through a preacher by the name of David Wilkerson, gave his life to the Lord, repented of his sin and did a 180-degree turnaround. He is now a very famous evangelist and is known all over the world.
Do not lose heart. Pray the Sinner’s Prayer, be like Moses, be like Saul who became Paul, be like Nicky Cruz. Say, “Lord, give me another chance.” He will do it for you today if you genuinely repent.
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
