Harvest Time

Farmers in South Africa are at present very busy because it is harvest time.

This is the season where the ‘wristwatch’ gets hidden, and we work long hours to get the crop in before the spring rains start again.

It’s also a very rewarding time as we reap the fruit of our labours, but also an extremely strenuous time because there is an important time factor involved - we literally work from sunrise to sunset!

Jesus says to you and to me, "Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! (John 4:25)

The Gospel has to be preached now, pure and simple, like never before because time is fast running out. There are too many souls dying who have never had the opportunity to meet Jesus Christ, and as a result are going to a lost eternity, forever.

We must roll up our sleeves and get stuck in.

Where you might ask is the harvest field? Well, it's in the Church and the workplace. The office, workshop, lecture hall, sports field, hospital, the prison, etc.

I have been preaching the Good News about Jesus Christ for forty years now, and can honestly say that I have never seen the crop so golden white and ready for harvest.

My beloved fellow harvester, we must get into the fields because the night is soon coming when no one can work. (John 9:4)

“Jesus please give us a heart for lost souls.“

God Bless,
Angus and Jill Buchan.
