God With Us
We greet you in Jesus' precious name and we wish you a very blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Matthew 1:23 (NKJV)
That very scripture was written in the Book of Isaiah 7:14 hundreds of years before Jesus was born. The Lord reminds us in Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV), “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Like never before, we as the children of God need to operate in faith. As you can see by the scripture verse I left with you, we cannot believe it is true unless we believe it by faith.
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for it is the evidence of things that is not yet seen.” Hebrews 11:1
We know that it is impossible for a young virgin to bear a child without knowing a man, and yet it happened. I want to encourage you, as you start to rest over Christmas and the New Year period that you spend a lot of time in God's Holy Word, because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
"You cannot understand The Bible unless you read it by faith."
It has been a wonderful year and many wonderful things have happened. We have together been part of, maybe even from a distance, the biggest Christian prayer meeting in the history of the world. We have also spent over three hours in Parliament praying for South Africa, even going so far as to singing hymns, and worshipping God. The Lord is moving! We see it all over and for me it is very obvious to see that darkness is becoming darker and light lighter. The chasm between good and bad is widening, and for that we thank God because there is a shaking taking place and there is no more room for compromised believers. Either we are in or we are out. Either we believe, or we disbelieve. We thank God for that. It has been spoken of very clearly in Zechariah 13:7-9 where there is going to be a sorting out and a sifting out. My prayer for you is that we would be amongst those who would be the third that will stand for the Lord.
Remember God did not promise us a 'bed of roses', but He did promise us that He would walk with us through the fire. It's not important that you become a friend of everybody, what is important is that people respect you for your faith. There is no room left for lukewarm Christians. The Lord says very clearly in Revelation 3:16 (NKJV): “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” We really need to stand up and be counted.
I found this year that as things become more critical it is so exciting to know who is for the Lord and who is not for the Lord. Often you get some amazing surprises. People that we thought would never ever depart from the faith have started to compromise and others who we thought would never be born again are coming into the kingdom and are on fire for God. It is an exciting time to live in and we have nothing whatsoever to fear as believers, because to be with God is to be in heaven and to be without God is to be in hell. All we need is to do is to make sure that our lives are in right standing with Jesus Christ.
Thank you for praying for Jill, myself, our family and for the entire Shalom ministries team, without you it could never have happened. Thank you for your support and your love. We are so excited for next year. We already have one massive campaign coming up in March. We are going to Mitchells Plain in Cape Town. Right into the area where all the gangsters are operating, and we are going to have a meeting there, which we believe will be life changing to that vast community of people. It will be called “It’s Time.” The same as the first one that took place in Bloemfontein and we are believing for the same results, because we will be praying the prayer of faith in that place. May God bless you and your loved ones as you spend time resting together, rejoicing and looking forward to the coming of the King.
Yours in Christ service,
Angus, Jill and the Shalom family
