Holy Living

If we go to the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) the Lord says that we are ambassadors for Christ. 

F. B. Meyer, that great British preacher from long ago, said: “Being is doing.”  You and I must live The Life, not talk The Life - we must learn to walk the talk. Our greatest example of this was the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who for thirty years walked the talk.

It was His lifestyle that influenced people - not so much what he said. His ministry only lasted three years but for thirty years He was an ambassador. What the world is looking for in these last days are simplicity and purity. 

A walk with God, which is a daily walk - that is going to be our greatest witness. I remember many years ago, preaching down in the Eastern Cape to some wonderful farmers. At halftime we were all having a cup of tea and one old farmer came up to me and he said: ‘Son, preach so that we can see you.’ I had to think about that... I said: ‘Thank you Sir!’ 

You know he was quite right! What he was actually saying was ‘Open your heart, we want to see who you really are.’ I think the time of the façade or the mask is over, God wants us to be His true ambassadors - people must really see who we are. 

Sometimes we do lose it but if we repent, God will forgive us. We have to be real people, we have to be holy people, remember, holiness is the end product of obedience.

So this week, let you and I go out as God’s ambassadors. Not so much by what we say but by who we are. We will impact the world bringing hope, love and faith to those who are floundering because of the pressure that life is throwing at them, in these perilous times.
